Arts manager, writer and actress Deidré Schoeman has extensive experience in the performing arts, both on- and off-stage. Stints in the UAE earned her valuable international experience as a performer, facilitator and script writer across a number of different types of projects. Deidre is also a puppeteer and dancer and has experience in the art department for children television programmes which aired on SABC 2, MNet, eTV and Kyk-Net. Deidré has also performed in various television and theatre productions including ‘Egoli’ and ‘Scandal’ and as a lead role in the play ‘Snowman’. She joined The Arts & Culture Trust as the Programmes Co-ordinator for their Performing Arts Scholarships and Professional Development Programmes for a number of years. Recent projects include being Production Manager on the ‘SAMRO Overseas Scholarships Programme,’ ‘UJ555’ and the ‘Seats of Knowledge Programme’ at UJ.
