Ashraf Jacobs is a versatile performer and playwright with a career spanning over three decades in theatre, television, and emceeing. Known for his nuanced portrayals and commanding stage and screen presence, Jacobs starred as the title character in the film Sando to Samantha directed by Jack Lewis. His television credits include playing Lucas in season 4 of the SABC 3 drama Hard Copy and appearing as a guest in Fishy Fêshuns.
On stage, Jacobs originated the role of Boy in the devised play SUIP and portrayed Lawrence in two productions of The Myth of Andrew and Jo by Gideon van Eeden, staged in South Africa and Ireland. Internationally, he performed Cry Havoc in the USA and toured Salaam, which he performed to over 150,000 people across the UK, Netherlands, and South Africa. He also originated the innovative solo performance iHAMLET by Robin Malan.
Jacobs is also an acclaimed and published playwright. His works include Karaoke for the End of the World, Happy Endings Are Extra, Coloured Son X, Miracle, and Doekie Monsters.
